This is an invited paper for nCRISP (new
Construction Research and Innovation Strategy Panel - the Strategic
Forum 'think tank' and construction R&I strategy panel) on behalf
of the DTI. It is a joint paper by Uly Ma, Principal Consultant at
Greenfile Developments and Ms Val Lowman, Community Development
Manager at Bovis Lend Lease.
The paper describes how construction wastes impacts on greenhouse
gas emissions and uses the Bluewater project
to illustrate three opportunities that can be deployed by construction
companies to reduce not only their costs but also impacts on the environment.
This paper is part of a series of nCRISP invited papers on the future
of construction.
